The ABC’s of Pelvic Pain with Mary Shriver & Heather Jeffcoat
April 30 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Stress is long known to exacerbate symptoms, especially in those who suffer from lower back and pelvic tension, pain, weakness and related reproductive and sexual dysfunctions. Recognizing how stress is impacting the physical body is a crucial step towards maintaining health and wellness.
In this 90 minute workshop, you will learn how to lower stress and tension in the body to reduce symptoms of pelvic pain and dysfunction. By looking more deeply at the relationship between stress, tension, trauma and pain, attendees of this workshop will put themselves on a direct and immediate path towards reducing uncomfortable symptoms.
Heather, Jeffcoat, DPT, is a physical therapist specializing in pelvic pain, incontinence, pregnancy and postpartum related orthopedic dysfunctions. Author of “Sex without Pain” she will address the kind of issues she sees most frequently in the office and introduce workshop attendees to the most effective strategies and self-care tools she uses with patients to overcome them.
Mary P. Shriver will present the ABC’s of stress and recovery, followed by Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), a key tool from the TRE Los Angeles toolkit.
Together, Heather and Mary will provide several helpful take home tips and resources on how to tone, condition and build new habits for general and pelvic health.
